According to Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports, the San Francisco 49ers are signing New York Giants free-agent defensive back Jason Pinnock to a one-year deal.

The New York Jets selected Pinnock (6-0, 200) out of Pittsburgh in the fifth round (No. 175 overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft. The Giants claimed him off waivers in 2022, and he became their starting strong safety in 2023, starting 32 games over the past two seasons.

Pinnock has posted 85 tackles in each of the last two seasons, per Pro Football Reference. Last season, he added four tackles for a loss, three quarterback hits, three sacks, and a pass defensed.

Pinnock, 25, has totaled 227 tackles (12 for a loss), 11 quarterback hits, two interceptions, a touchdown, 6.5 sacks, 11 passes defensed, and five forced fumbles over his four NFL seasons.
