The San Francisco 49ers are signing former Dallas Cowboys offensive guard Robert Jones, who has started 30 games in the NFL. NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero reported the news after Jones visited with the team.

The Miami Dolphins signed Jones (6-4, 322) as an undrafted free agent out of Middle Tennessee in 2021. He spent his first four NFL seasons in Miami before signing a one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys in March 2025.

Dallas placed Jones on season-ending injured reserve on August 8 after the offensive lineman suffered a neck injury during training camp, sidelining him for the entire season.

Across four active NFL seasons, Jones has appeared in 49 games. He has logged 2,025 offensive snaps, primarily at left guard, and has recorded one career fumble recovery.

Former San Francisco 49ers guard Spencer Burford signed with the Las Vegas Raiders as a free agent, while Ben Bartch, who also started for the team, remains on the market.
