San Francisco 49ers star Deebo Samuel cut his interview with The Zach Gelb Show short on Monday after being asked about his comments regarding the NFC title game loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Prior to the hang up, Samuel was asked questions about the Niners quarterback situation as well.
According to Gelb, the interview was scheduled for 15 minutes, but lasted only "five-six minutes."

In the days leading up to Super Bowl LVII between the Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs, Samuel said that if San Francisco had one more active quarterback for the NFC Championship Game against Philadelphia, "it probably would've been a different outcome."
Already without their No. 1 and No. 2 quarterbacks in Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo due to injuries, the 49ers saw third-stringer Brock Purdy exit the loss on the team's first offensive drive due to a PCL issue. Fourth-stringer Josh Johnson took over, but eventually suffered a concussion, leading San Francisco to put an ailing Purdy back in the contest.
The 2022 Pro Bowl wideout said in February that when both Purdy and Johnson got hurt, "it was kind of like, we really don't have a chance."
Shortly after the February comments, he backed up his words by tweeting "I stand on everything I say."
After his breakthrough All-Pro campaign in 2021, Samuel battled injuries last year and was limited to 13 games. Still, the 27-year-old finished second on the team in rushing touchdowns (three) and targets (94), while placing third in receptions (56), receiving yards (632) and yards from scrimmage (864).
