49ers take first steps in preparing for 2024 season
Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco 49ers have quickly moved on to planning for next season after their gut-wrenching Super Bowl 58 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Instead of planning a parade, the 49ers made their first moves aimed at the 2024 season on Tuesday.

They announced the signing of nine free agents.

On that long list are the following names:

Erik Harris, Curtis Robinson, Tayler Hakwins and Tay Martin all played regular-season football for San Francisco in 2023, Harris brought In as safety insurance as injuries bit the Niners down the stretch.

Hawkins registered a first career interception in Week 18 as he and a host of other backups saw action in a meaningless regular-season finale.

He suffered a wrist injury in that game, requiring season-ending surgery.
