The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 2 contest against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. Both teams have released their official injury reports, which are provided below.
Out
QB Brock Purdy (left shoulder, toe)
Questionable
WR Jauan Jennings (shoulder), T Trent Williams (knee)
Out
S Julian Blackmon (shoulder), G Trevor Penning (toe), DE Chase Young (calf)
Questionable
T Taliese Fuaga (knee)
As expected, quarterback Brock Purdy (left shoulder, toe) did not practice and will miss Sunday's game. Mac Jones is set to make his first start with the 49ers. The team will elevate Adrian Martinez from the practice squad to serve as Jones' backup.
Jones could face a challenging debut as the team's starting left tackle, Trent Williams (knee), is uncertain for Sunday. He was limited in practice after not participating earlier in the week.
On a positive note, wide receiver Jauan Jennings (shoulder) returned to practice Friday after not participating earlier in the week. Williams and Jennings are "questionable" to play.
