538 rates Josh Allen as NFL's most valuable quarterback

The MVP debate has been a hotter topic than usual this season. With quarterbacks the like of Brock Purdy and Tua Tagovailoa putting up big numbers in offenses filled with star power, many have called upon their skill-position teammates to win the award.

Christian McCaffrey and Tyreek Hill would both be excellent choices to be the first non-quarterback MVPs since Adrian Peterson in 2014, being that they are the respective nuclei their offenses revolve around. However, there is a forgotten candidate that no one seems to be acknowledging.

According to 538's quarterback ELO rankings, Josh Allen is the most valuable quarterback in the NFL. His 538 ELO is the highest in the NFL at 259.9, and his value compared to the average NFL starter is higher than any quarterback in the NFL.

On top of Allen being the most important quarterback in the NFL, according to ELO, he also leads the NFL in total touchdowns and is third in the NFL in QBR.

Should Buffalo run the table and finish 11-6, including wins over the Chiefs, Cowboys, and a season sweep of the Dolphins, Allen should definitely be in the MVP conversation.
