5 Big Chargers Pro Bowl Snubs of 2025
NFL: Los Angeles Chargers at Jacksonville Jaguars Morgan Tencza-Imagn Images

The Los Angeles Chargers were well represented when the NFL announced the AFC roster for the 2026 Pro Bowl Games. Justin Herbert, Derwin James Jr., Tuli Tuipulotu, Cameron Dicker, and Joe Alt all earned deserved selections, with Khalil Mack, Del’Shawn Phillips, Donte Jackson, and Scott Matlock named as alternates.

Still, Pro Bowl voting is rarely perfect. Based on 2025 performance alone, several Chargers played at an All-Star level yet were left on the outside looking in. Here are five snubs who made compelling cases with their production and impact this season.

Ladd McConkey, WR

Ladd McConkey’s 2025 season has been exceptional. Through 15 games, he’s accumulated 758 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns on 65 receptions (104 targets) with a reliable 62.5% catch rate. McConkey has generated 308 yards after catch, accounting for 40.6% of his total yardage. His impact in crucial situations stands out with 12 third-down conversions and 4 red zone touchdowns. He’s been clutch in the fourth quarter with 10 receptions for 175 yards and has produced 7 explosive plays of 20+ yards. For a rookie receiver to display such consistency and production in high-leverage moments, McConkey has established himself as one of the most dynamic offensive weapons in the league.

Keenan Allen, WR

Even after changing teams, Keenan Allen continues to look like one of the NFL’s most refined receivers. He led his team with 73 receptions, totaling 724 yards and four touchdowns while maintaining his trademark efficiency as a route runner. Allen’s nearly 69 percent catch rate reflected his dependability and football IQ, traits that have defined his career. That level of consistency from a veteran receiver is usually rewarded — this time, it wasn’t.

Daiyan Henley, LB

Henley’s 2025 season showcased exactly what teams want from a modern linebacker. He finished with 92 total tackles, added 3.5 sacks, and snagged two interceptions, impacting games in multiple phases. Whether dropping into coverage, filling gaps against the run, or attacking the quarterback, Henley consistently showed up on tape. His versatility and playmaking ability put him firmly in the Pro Bowl conversation, even if the final vote didn’t reflect it.

J.K. Scott, P

Punters rarely receive the spotlight, but Scott’s season deserved one. Averaging nearly 49 yards per punt across 43 attempts, he was a steady weapon in the field-position battle every week. His leg strength and placement routinely forced opponents into long fields, quietly influencing outcomes in close games. It’s the kind of value that often goes unnoticed in Pro Bowl voting, despite its importance.

Zion Johnson, OG

Offensive line play doesn’t come with flashy statistics, but Johnson’s influence was felt throughout the Chargers’ offense. Anchoring the interior line, he provided steady pass protection and helped create consistency up front. Guards rarely earn Pro Bowl recognition unless their dominance is undeniable, and Johnson’s week-to-week reliability made a strong case that he met that standard in 2025.

The guard has been outstanding in pass protection, allowing just 21 pressures and 3 sacks on 590 pass-blocking snaps while playing over 1,000 total snaps.

Pro Bowl selections will always spark debate, and the Chargers are no exception. While several stars were rightly honored, these five players delivered performances that stacked up with the best at their positions — even if the recognition didn’t follow.
