Pro Football Focus has released its 2024 Top 101 players list, which featured five from the Kansas City Chiefs. Check out who they are and where they ranked below:

  • OG Joe Thuney- No. 46
  • QB Patrick Mahomes- No. 39
  • CB Trent McDuffie- No. 16
  • DT Chris Jones- No. 8
  • C Creed Humphrey- No. 7

Kansas City is one of three teams to feature multiple players within the top 10, along with the Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles. Jones topped all defensive tackles, and Humphrey ranked second among all offensive linemen. McDuffie was the second-highest ranked CB.

Mahomes came in at sixth among all QBs, trailing Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Jayden Daniels, and Justin Herbert. Statistically, 2024 was a down year for Mahomes, but his 67.5 completion percentage was a career-high, as was his win total of 15 games.

As for Thuney, he was the third-highest ranked guard on the list, and eighth overall among all offensive linemen. He may have been ranked higher had he not had to switch over to left tackle late in the season, but doing so not only helped the Chiefs to get all the way to the Super Bowl, but landed Thuney the team's Derrick Thomas MVP award.

Mahomes, Jones, and Humphrey are long-term cornerstone pieces for the Chiefs throughout the foreseeable future, but they have decisions to make regarding McDuffie and Thuney. Both have just one year remaining on their current contracts. McDuffie is eligible for an extension this offseason, and extending Thuney would save the team nearly $12 million in salary cap space. Giving both of them extensions seems like an obvious move for K.C. to make as they are elite players at their respective positions and should remain so for years to come.
