A Clean Slate: Pushing For Success

With the 2025 NFL preseason officially in the rearview mirror, the Miami Dolphins are stepping into the regular season with a renewed sense of purpose and optimism. The games that didn’t count are over, and now, every snap, every drive, and every decision holds weight. It’s a clean slate, and the Dolphins are ready to make the most of it.

Head coach Mike McDaniel and his team are hoping to build on the flashes of promise shown throughout the preseason. There were ups and downs, as expected, but the underlying progress was clear: young talent is developing, veterans are leading, and the team’s identity is beginning to solidify on both sides of the ball.

Now, with the regular season about to begin, Miami’s goals are crystal clear. First, challenge the Buffalo Bills for the AFC East crown. Second, and perhaps more importantly, put an end to a playoff drought that has plagued the franchise for over two decades. The last time the Dolphins won a postseason game was in 2000, and the hunger to break that streak has only grown stronger.

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa enters this season with a mix of expectation and opportunity. He has shown continued growth, and with a fully loaded offense featuring speedster Tyreek Hill, rising star Jaylen Waddle, and a young, developing running back room, the Dolphins have the firepower to keep pace with anyone in the league. If the offensive line can stay healthy and provide protection, Miami could have one of the most dynamic attacks in the AFC.

Defensively, the team aims to take a step forward under new leadership, focusing on creating turnovers and forcing opponents to go three-and-out on third down. The additions made during the offseason, combined with the development of younger players, could finally give Miami the balance it has lacked in recent years.

Of course, the path won’t be easy. The AFC East remains one of the most competitive divisions in football. The Bills, perennial contenders, still stand as the team to beat, and the Jets and Patriots are no pushovers. But the Dolphins aren’t shying away from the challenge; they’re embracing it.

The message coming out of Miami is simple: it’s time to turn potential into production. The slate is clean, the mission is clear, and the Dolphins are focused on finally delivering the kind of season fans have been waiting for.

Whether that results in a playoff berth, a division title, or something even bigger remains to be seen. But one thing is certain: this team believes it can compete, and they’re ready to prove it.
