The Colts handed Bynum a four year, $60 million contract this offseason to be their new starting FS. His ball skills and overall showing in coverage over the years made him one of the top safeties on the market. And his addition significantly improved the outlook of the Colts' secondary.

In addition to his typical training to prepare for the upcoming football season, Bynum spent time with boxing legend Manny Pacquiao. Pacquiao has a 62-8-2 boxing record with 39 of his victories coming via knockout. He last fought in August 2021, losing to Yordenis Ugas, and is making his return to the ring this month with a bout scheduled for July 19 against Mario Barrios.

During his interview, he spoke about how training with Pacquiao improved his work ethic and mindset, and he plans to use that to improve himself on the football field.

"The one conversation we had where we trained together this time, we were doing an ab workout, he said it's your choice if you get knocked down by a body shot. In my mind, put that in football terms, you are in charge of your preparation. He's like, if you get knocked out by getting hit in the face, hit in the head, that's fine, that's just a good punch, but if you get knocked out to the body, that means you didn't prepare well enough. I hear that, and I instantly translate that to football. I can win if I prepare if I know the other team, know the offense I'm going against, if i watch enough tape, if I do enough footwork during the week to be good on my coverage."
