Davante Adams signed with the Los Angeles Rams in March, when NFL free agency was just beginning.
Adams was released by the Jets, paving the way for him to sign a two-year, $46 million contract with $26 million guaranteed. He is set to be the Rams' WR2 behind Puka Nacua and is another excellent option for quarterback Matthew Stafford.
Adams will be reunited with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo after the Rams re-signed him to a one-year deal during free agency. Garoppolo will be Stafford's backup for a second-straight season.
Garoppolo and Adams were together for a short stint in 2023 when both players were members of the Las Vegas Raiders, and Adams confirmed during an interview on Tuesday that it was a "dark moment in all of our lives."
"It's amazing. I love Jimmy, and it was never a personal thing," Adams said. "I'm surprised that this is the first time it's been brought up, but he's been amazing. We got to catch up and get on the right page. Obviously, that was just a dark moment in all of our lives. I think all of us were pretty miserable over there, and we kinda caught up and laughed about it."
The two will keep working at Rams' training camp over the next few weeks before the regular season starts in early September. The Rams have Super Bowl aspirations this year after losing in the divisional round to the Philadelphia Eagles last season.
