Tomorrow's prime-time AFC West rivalry matchup between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Las Vegas Raiders will be the second and final matchup both teams will go head-to-head in 2023.
The Chargers got the better half of the Raiders the last time these two teams met, as the Bolts went on to win 24-17 against the Silver and Black.
Raiders rookie quarterback Aidan O'Connell started and played in his first-ever NFL regular season game the last time the Raiders went head-to-head against the Chargers. O'Connell finished the game by completing 24 passes on 34 attempts for 238 yards and one interception.
Chargers' backup quarterback, Easton Stick, will be the starter, as Justin Herbert started the last time the Raiders played the Chargers. Herbert is now out for the remainder of the 2023-24 NFL regular season after sustaining a fracture on his right index finger.
In the last matchup between both teams, Herbert finished the game throwing 13 passes on 24 attempts for 167 yards with one touchdown pass and one interception.
Raiders running back Josh Jacobs is known for playing well against the Chargers, and during the last matchup, he did play well. He finished the game rushing for 58 yards on 17 total carries and one rushing touchdown. Jacobs also finished the game as the leading receiver on the Raiders offense, finishing with eight receptions for 81 yards.
Jacobs has 148 carries for 643 yards and has scored six touchdowns in eight games against the Chargers.
Conversely, Chargers starting running back Austin Ekeler did not play in the last matchup. Chargers backup running back Joshua Kelley finished the game rushing for 65 yards on 17 total carries.
Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams finished the game with eight receptions for 75 yards in the last matchup against the Bolts. Adams has 33 catches for 434 yards and has scored three touchdowns in four games against the Chargers in his career.
Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen finished the game with three receptions for 32 yards and one touchdown. Allen has had 106 catches for 1,178 yards and has scored eight touchdowns in 18 games against the Raiders in his career.
The Raiders look to extend the all-time series to 67-58-2 with a win over the Chargers tomorrow night.
