A New Special Teams Trio for the Raiders
USA TODAY Sports

The Las Vegas Raiders now have a new special teams trio. The Raiders decided to let go of long-snapper Trent Sieg this NFL off-season and signed a new long-snapper, Jacob Bobenmoyer.

Bobenmoyer has a strong relationship with Special Teams Coordinator Tom McMahon. Both spent significant time together with the Denver Broncos.

With the addition of Bobenmoyer, punter, holder AJ Cole, and kicker Daniel Carlson have started forming a solid bond with the new long snapper—a strong bond both on and off the field.

AJ Cole talked to the media about the new special teams' trio and the bonding.

"There's a lot of reps we got to get in, time to catch up, but that what this time of year is for," AJ Cole said of getting acquainted with Bobenmoyer. "The quarterbacks, receivers, the O-line, D-line, everybody is going through the same thing right now. So this time of the year is sort of a race to get better between now and September. ... It's how many reps we can get together and how much trust we can have in each other by the time we hit that first field when it counts.

"We spend a lot of time together. We eat breakfast together, we eat lunch together, so I'm just getting to know him. Getting to learn about who he is, where he's from, all those type of things. And I think that's real important. I'm a big believer in camaraderie [and] vibes, and I think that translates to on the field production."

It is always essential for any team to have strong bond ships for any of the offensive or defensive groups, and the Raiders have a new bond on their Special Teams unit with the addition of long snapper Jacob Bobenmoyer.

It will be fascinating to watch how well the new trio on the Raiders' special teams will continue to bond and play for years to come.

The Silver and Black rolled the proverbial dice when letting team favorite Trent Sieg go, but that doesn't minimize the talent of Jacob Bobenmoyer.
