A New York Giants undrafted rookie has already outperformed expectations and can use training camp to prove the NFL wrong

Giants UDFA Beaux Collins has a real chance to make the team's 53 man roster

Fresh off a trip to the College Football National Championship, Beaux Collins signed with the Giants as an UDFA. His four year college career began at Clemson, where he spent three seasons and recorded 91 catches for 1,290 yards and 11 touchdowns in 32 games. In his one season with Notre Dame, he set a new career high with 41 receptions in a season but fell short of reaching his career highs for yards and touchdowns. 

Collins has great size for the WR position standing at 6-3 and is also a great athlete. His size and testing numbers landed him an impressive 9.09 Relative Athletic Score or RAS. His explosion drills stand out the most, with him recording over 10 feet on his broad jump and 38 inches for his vertical. Sometimes, though, elite athletic profiles are cool to look at and talk about, but they always don't translate to production on the field. We have to wait and see how things shake out for Collins, but he's off to a great start, especially for an undrafted free agent.

During minicamp, Collins stepped in for Jalin Hyatt, who left practice early, and logged first team reps with the Giants starters. He made the most of his opportunities by cashing in on a touchdown during seven on seven work. Next up on Collins' to do list this offseason will be making sure he stands out in training camp and showing the Giants he deserves a spot on their 53-man roster. The Giants' WR room on paper only seems to have two or three jobs locked up, which leaves multiple roster spots up for grabs. This gives Collins not only a chance to make the roster but also to earn an impactful role as a rookie.
