The New York Jets regime under Aaron Glenn is beginning to push forward towards the 2025 season with the rookie mini-camp now underway.
With all of the Jets' rookies getting down to business, they will learn rather quickly what Mr. Glenn is all about, and he won't be sugar coating anything.
While it has been a whirlwind for rookies this entire offseason, now comes the true test of their credentials with the install of the playbook, terminology and everything in between being tested over the course of camp.
And for Glenn, he had questions about this class, and he's already got the desired answers.
"I thought it was important for them to understand the direction of what we're trying to do in this camp, and it wasn't a true physical camp," Glenn said. "But there were three things that I wanted to get out of these guys. What I wanted to know is can they learn, one, two, are they coachable and three, can they play special teams. And I think a lot of those guys answered those questions, so that was my message to those guys, and I thought those guys did a really good job."
With the rookies being put through their paces, it is going to be a baptism of fire for them all to learn the playbook, dot their I's and cross their T's before mandatory mini camp begins and the veterans walk into the building.
For now, it's all about learning, and Glenn's regime is off to a solid start with the new head coach getting a lay of the land for his first batch of rookies.
Questions were asked and answered on the first day of camp, and we imagine that Glenn would have liked what he saw from his group early on.
Yes, it's only the first day, but the Jets' rookie class appears to have hit the ground running.
