Jets head coach Aaron Glenn met with the media this afternoon ahead of his team’s meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Glenn said the game would be “a good challenge” that his players are “looking forward to”.
When addressing the health of his club, Glenn would only say that “most of the guys will be out there practicing today”. When pressed specifically about the status of guard John Simpson and backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor, he simply repeated his previous comment.
The coach also chose not to answer a question about what he noticed on film from quarterback Aaron Rodgers in preparing for the game. Glenn would simply say that Rogers is a future Hall of Fame quarterback who can cause problems for a defense.
Simpson’s availability is key for the team’s opener as having to miss time would likely move Joe Tippmann to left guard and force the Jets to start backup Josh Myers at the pivot which would be a significant downgrade along the interior offensive line.
