Reporting live from New York Jets HQ in Florham Park, NJ—Despite last serving as a member of the New York Jets organization in 2013, head coach Aaron Glenn understands the pain and turmoil that Jets fans have had to endure over the past decade-plus.
Speaking to reporters at the Jets’ first training camp practice of 2025, Glenn expressed his understanding of the fan base’s pain and his goal to end all of the suffering.
“I understand the pain. I’m hoping, I’m praying, and I expect the pain to go away,” said Glenn.
Glenn, selected by the Jets in the first round of the 1994 NFL draft, spent eight seasons in New York.
Following his retirement from the NFL after the 2008 season, the former cornerback spent one season as the general manager of the Houston Stallions, a professional indoor football team that competed in the Lone Star Football League (LSFL). Glenn rejoined the Jets organization as a personnel scout for two seasons (2012-13).
Now, Glenn is looking to revive the organization that initially drafted him into the NFL. The team currently boasts the longest active playoff drought among North America’s four major sports leagues (MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA), spanning 14 years.
Glenn and the Jets’ journey to the promised land starts now, but the Super Bowl is not the organization’s No. 1 priority as training camp kicks off.
“The expectation in training camp is to try to create new things. The Super Bowl is down the road,” Glenn said.
