Aaron Glenn’s Latest Comments Complicate Breece Hall Trade Talks

Breece Hall is one of the biggest names on the trade market, as the New York Jets running back is in the final year of his contract and could leave for greener pastures in just a few months. Currently owning an 0-6 record, the 2025 iteration of the Jets don’t stand a chance at the postseason, so it makes sense for the team to trade him for whatever they can get, as there are several running back-needy teams throughout the NFL landscape. However, that won’t happen if head coach Aaron Glenn gets his way.

In a recent interview, Glenn emphasized that the team has “no plans to trade [Breece] Hall” despite the constant rumors surrounding the former second-round pick. While the team could still work out a deal for the Iowa State product, it’s clear the head coach has no interest in sending away one of his best players.

Aaron Glenn Doesn’t Want to Trade Breece Hall

Even though the New York Jets themselves are struggling, Breece Hall himself is having a strong season. Despite playing on a bad offense with a limited passing attack, the fourth-year pro has recorded 410 rushing yards on 88 attempts while adding another 17 receptions for 150 yards. While he’s still looking for his first touchdown of the season, he remains one of the league’s better running backs.

Breece Hall originally entered the league as a second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Selected by the New York Jets, the Iowa State product took the league by storm as a rookie. Despite starting the season as a backup, Hall finished his rookie season with 463 yards and four touchdowns on 80 attempts before tearing his ACL. He stayed healthy in 2023 and 2024 and currently has 2,743 rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns in 46 games.
