Aaron Rodgers believes quarterback Jordan Love has 'mastered' the Green Bay Packers' offense

It is extremely difficult to hold some stats against players during pre-season. There are a lot of different factors that are affecting the game such as new and inexperienced players on the field. Another factor is the limited number of plays starters tend to play, thus having players go against backups more often than they would during the regular season.

Jordan Love was headed into the preseason with new techniques to try, as well as further merging those techniques with knowledge of the Green Bay offense. Aaron Rodgers has been teaching him the some new things, which will take time for Love to fully grasp.

This video from earlier in camp shows Rodgers teaching Love and Danny Etling some of his movement. Rodgers has a creative way of playing quarterback and his style is so unique that it can be seen when someone else is attempting to implement it. 

It is difficult to determine whether or not someone has fully learned something until it is truly tested. Love needs more time and exposure before anyone can confirm that. However, that hasn’t stopped believers, especially those closest to him, to keep reassuring Packers’ fans Love is the future.

Aaron Rodgers spoke to the Green Bay Press-Gazette after the game Thursday and had great things to say about Love and his performance. “The reads and stuff, just understanding the offense. I think he’s definitely become a master of the offense,” Rodgers also went on to say, ”But it’s just the little things that are really going to help him level up, and a lot of it is footwork and little things like arm angles on run action, his keeper fakes, his hard-action fakes, his run solutions and RPO game, helping to marry up with the running game. That’s what I like seeing.”

Rodgers sure seems to believe that Love understands the Packers offense well enough to take over. Obviously, he didn’t commit to saying he thinks Love will be a great starter or that he is already performing extremely well. Rodgers pointed to the things Love is focusing on and the things the Packers coaching staff has seen that they have decided to develop.

It appears Love is on the right track from a distance. The team is confident in his ability. Rodgers has also noted that he is doing the techniques they work on in the games as well. To say someone is a master of something is incredibly high praise, and Rodgers surely seems to believe Love is capable of taking over the Packers in the future.
