Aaron Rodgers continued a disappointing streak in loss to Titans

Aaron Rodgers continued a very disappointing personal streak on Thursday night in the Green Bay Packers' latest loss.

That streak: A 16th consecutive game where he has failed to throw for at least 300 yards in a game.

That is nearly a full season's worth of games, and it goes all the way back to early December of the 2021 season. The last time he topped the 300-yard mark was the Packers' 45-30 win over the Chicago Bears in Week 13 of last season. What's worse for Rodgers, he has not even really come close to eclipsing that mark during this stretch.

He had one game with 291 yards and one game with 288 yards. Other than that, he has not topped the 260-yard mark in any of the other games.

Just for comparison's sake, in the 16 games prior to this streak Rodgers topped the 300-yard mark six times.

It is not just any one factor at play resulting in his loss in production, but rather a combination of things that are leading to a down year for both him and the Packers offense.

For starters, the Packers have not really made a huge investment in adding talent around him. If anything, they have subtracted from it by trading one of the best wide receivers in football, Davante Adams, this offseason. And while they did add Christian Watson and Romeo Dobbs as wide receivers in the 2022 draft class, the overwhelming majority of their top picks in recent years have been on defense. That includes their two first-round picks this season.

That does not even include the year they used their top pick on Rodgers' potential future replacement, quarterback Jordan Love.

The longer a team avoids adding talent, and even subtracts from it, the more it is going to impact the team's success.

There is also the fact that Rodgers turns 39 in a couple of weeks, and for as great as he has been for so long the harsh reality is that father time is always undefeated in these things.

Add all of that together and you have one of the worst years of Rodgers' career, a Packers offense that has dropped to 26th in scoring offense, and a team that is only 4-7 through 11 games.
