When Aaron Rodgers decided to join the Pittsburgh Steelers, he did so intending to win a Super Bowl.
If he achieves that goal remains to be seen, but one thing is becoming increasingly clear with Rodgers.
2025 is his swan song...
“Well, I just like the newness of it all,” Rodgers told NBC Sports at the American Century Championship over the weekend. “I’m excited about being such at a such great franchise with the Hall of Fame head coach and [Mike Tomlin] and I’ve enjoyed getting to know Arthur Smith, our coordinator, the quarterback coach actually was in my quarterbacks room a million years ago. I’ve known Tom Arth since we were young kids without any gray. So it’s fun. It’s a good quarterbacks room. It’s good leadership in the locker room. Great fan base, and I’m just excited to get back out there and finish it the right way.”

Rodgers and the Steelers are going to be an interesting case study. Many believe that the Steelers are foolish for bringing him in. That he's a "culture destroyer" and it will fail miserably, similar to what happened between him and the New York Jets.
I, however, don't see it that way. I think Rodgers knew what he was getting into when he decided to sign with a team like the Steelers, and I think, no, I know that he is likely playing his last season in the NFL based on what he told Pat McAfee a few weeks ago...
“Yeah, I’m pretty sure this is it,” Rodgers said. “ You know, that’s why we just did a one-year deal. The Steelers didn’t need to put any extra years on that or anything, so this was really about finishing with a lot of love and fun and peace for the career that I’ve had. I mean, I’ve played 20 freaking years. It’s been a long run and I’ve enjoyed it. What better place to finish than with one of the cornerstone franchises of the NFL.”
Finishing with a Super Bowl would be even better.
