Aaron Rodgers Edging Closer to Stunning Injury Comeback for New York Jets
Chris Pedota, NorthJersey.com / USA TODAY NETWORK

To say that Aaron Rodgers has shattered all the expectations we all had on him in terms of his recovery from a potentially career-threatening Achilles injury would be a major understatement at this point. Not only did the New York Jets star quarterback destroy any and all doubt about his future in the NFL, but he is now set to return to the field much earlier than initially anticipated.

Reports have now emerged pertaining to the four-time league MVP taking a massive step to his stunning comeback.

Aaron Rodgers Expected to Practice Soon

A couple of weeks ago, Rodgers revealed that he’s planning to return to action sometime in December. New reports from several league insiders have now indicated that the 39-year-old is indeed closing in on his much-anticipated comeback. This comes via Mike Florio of PFT:

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Rodgers could return to practice this week. Previously, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports pegged the potential return as December 2, which is both Saturday and Rodgers’s 40th birthday,” Florio wrote.

That’s massive. Obviously, Rodgers will need to practice in full first before the Jets medical team clears him to play. If he is able to practice this coming week, then it only means that he is extremely close to returning.

Previous reports state that Rodgers and the Jets are planning for a return in Week 16 against the Washington Commanders. At this point, it certainly seems like Rodgers will be able to hit that target date.

That game is scheduled on December 24th, so it goes without saying that Rodgers’ potential return is going to be a tremendous Christmas present for Jets fans everywhere.
