At 41 years old, and about to turn 42 in December, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is clearly not the same player he used to be, particularly the version of himself that won four NFL MVP awards during his time with the Green Bay Packers.
That being said, the Steelers are having a good start to the season with Rodgers at the helm of their offense. They are 3-1 through four weeks. They enter a bye in Week 5 on a two-game win streak following victories over the New England Patriots in Foxborough and the Minnesota Vikings in Ireland.
Thus far in the 2025 NFL regular season, Rodgers has accumulated 786 passing yards and eight touchdowns against three interceptions on a 68.5 percent pass completion rate. His numbers may not necessarily jump off the page, but they aren’t bad either.
However, in the eyes of Pro Football Focus, Rodgers is one of the worst quarterbacks in the league to date this season. They have given Rodgers a 50.4 overall grade, which is lower than what Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward and even Miami Dolphins signal-caller Tua Tagovailoa have. Even Jake Browning of the Cincinnati Bengals has a higher grade than the future Pro Football Hall of Famer.
Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports isn’t buying how PFF views, at least in this regard, Rodgers.
“Not to be obnoxious to PFF, but I’m gonna go with no. He’s not the worst,” Cowherd said on his show, The Herd with Colin Cowherd. “He may win the division because currently, in the AFC North, the starters are Jake Browning, Dillon Gabriel, and Cooper Rush.”
Rodgers, who signed a one-year, $13.65 million contract with the Steelers in June, can just use his PFF grade as fuel in the coming games. And as long as his Steelers are winning, Rodgers probably wouldn’t mind whatever PFF thinks of him.
After their bye, Rodgers and the Steelers will face the Cleveland Browns at home in Week 6 on Oct. 12.
