As Aaron Rodgers continues to weigh his options this offseason, it's sounding like he's all-in on signing with one team — and he may even decide to retire if he doesn't end up there.
According to a recent report from The Athletic, the four-time MVP has his eyes set on Minnesota and he's "hoping" to sign with Kevin O'Connell and the Vikings rather than the Steelers or the Giants.
The organization is reportedly still deciding on whether or not it wants to bring Rodgers into the fold with the decks already cleared for the young J.J. McCarthy. And its been said that Vikings brass will defer to its head coach when it comes to green lighting a potential deal for the 41-year-old QB.
Minnesota choose to let Sam Darnold walk after posting career-highs across the board in 2024 on the way to a 14-3 record and Wild Card appearance.
He signed with the Seahawks to the tune of three-years, $100.5 million with $55 million in guaranteed money. And he'll now team up with Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp in the Pacific Northwest after Seattle parted ways with DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and Geno Smith.
New York and Pittsburgh are reported to remain very much interested in getting into the Aaron Rodgers business. But as The Athletic's Mike Silver, Dianna Russini and Alec Lewis note, it's possible the 10-time Pro Bowler opts for retirement if those are his only two options.
If Aaron were to sign with the Vikings, he would follow an almost identical path to that of his mentor Brett Favre going from Green Bay, to the Jets, to Minnesota. Which is all the more interesting when you consider how fractured their relationship was when Rodgers was the Hall of Famer's understudy.
ESPN 's Dan Orlovsky has warned that the Vikings should pass on bringing Aaron Rodgers into the building at this point in his career. But could Rodgers' last 10 games be enough the franchise to overlook the past few years?
