It didn’t take Aaron Rodgers long to get acclimated with his new teammates in New York.
And after taking just a few reps with his new cast of receivers, Rodgers came away impressed with his new top target and reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, Garrett Wilson.
“Obviously, Garrett, he’s a talented guy,” Rodgers said. “I threw him a pass (on Tuesday) and just kind of turned and was like ‘Wow.’ His ability to get in and out of his breaks, there’s another (No.) 17 who I played with for a long time who does it better than anybody, but the explosiveness in and out of the breaks from the (No.) 17 here is pretty similar.”

The Jets are presumably hoping Rodgers hits it off with Wilson and they develop a rapport like the one he had with Adams. The two played together for eight seasons in Green Bay and connected for 669 receptions, 8,121 yards and 73 touchdowns.
Wilson was targeted 147 times during his rookie season, totaling 83 receptions, 1,103 yards and four touchdowns while catching passes from a hodgepodge quarterback group of Zach Wilson, Mike White, Joe Flacco and Chris Streveler.
In addition to Wilson, Rodgers has two familiar faces joining him from Green Bay in Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb, who signed with the Jets on Wednesday morning. Mecole Hardman, Corey Davis, Denzel Mims and Malik Taylor round out New York’s receiver group.
