Aaron Rodgers joined exclusive club in win over Bears

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers looked his usual self against the Chicago Bears in Week 2 after the offense struggled in Week 1 against the Vikings.

Rodgers’ performance on Sunday Night Football against the Bears should put the doubters to rest. He finished with 234 yards passing and two touchdowns and looked much more comfortable with his wide receivers and the pocket.

His first touchdown Sunday night set a career benchmark and put Rodgers in good company and also in a tier of his own. Rodgers’ pass to Aaron Jones in the second quarter was his 450th career touchdown.

Rodgers became the fifth NFL quarterback to throw for 450 passing touchdowns. The other four to throw for at least that many are: Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning and Brett Favre. That's pretty great company.

Rodgers is currently 57 touchdowns behind Favre’s career total. If Rodgers completes this and next season, he will likely be able to surpass Favre on the all-time passing touchdown list. It would certainly make for an interesting storyline as Rodgers' career winds down.

More importantly for the Packers, Rodgers was able to do what those other four quarterbacks are known for. Win on Sundays. The Packers will do some incredible things with their rushing attack this year. But for the Packers to be dynamic enough to win the Super Bowl, they will need to rely on Rodgers to put up points with the passing game. He showed he’s capable of doing that during the win against the Bears.
