The Pittsburgh Steelers have gotten off to a 4-1 start with veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers running the offense.
Rodgers has thrown for 1,021 yards with 10 touchdowns and three interceptions and DK Metcalf has 19 catches for 356 yards and four scores in the new-look offense.
Rodgers, 41, spent the past two seasons with the New York Jets. After a long, drama-filled offseason, he finally signed a one-year deal worth $13.6 million with the Steelers in June.
As usual, Rodgers is still wearing No. 8. However, the veteran signal-caller has been tinkering with some different helmets this year.
Rodgers wore the Schutt helmet for 20 years. In 2024, he wore the Schutt Air XP Pro Q11 LTD, but after it didn't pass the safety test, he had to find a new helmet.
Now, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported that Rodgers had made a switch to a new approved Vicis helmet.
"After four games of wearing an approved model, Rodgers emerged from the bye with new headgear for the Week 6 game against the Browns. It’s a Vicis helmet from the list of helmets to which the NFL has given its blessing," Florio wrote.
Rodgers wore the helmet in the Week 6 game against the Cleveland Browns for the first time.
Looks like a new and improved helmet for @steelers QB @AaronRodgers12 . Aaron had said he did not like the helmet in the second image. Said it was “ugly too”. Today at practice, the first practice back after the bye week, it appears he has a new @vicispro helmet. Looks like… pic.twitter.com/31gi0MKiCM

At the end of September, Rodgers was a bit frustrated by having to change helmets.
"I wore (the old model) last year, no concussions," Rodgers said, via the Associated Press. "Some arbitrary ruling made it obsolete. I should have pushed it more, petitioned the league to let me wear it one more time."
The veteran has yet to comment on his newest helmet.
Perhaps those comments come after the game against the Cincinnati Bengals on "Thursday Night Football."
