Aaron Rodgers on relationship with Packers: 'We'll write the epilogue at some point'

Aaron Rodgers was with the Green Bay Packers for 18 seasons. The Packers were the team that drafted him in 2005 and stopped his skid out of the first round. He was Green Bay's quarterback when it won Super Bowl XLV, and he was named NFL MVP four times as a Packer.

When Rodgers eventually goes into the Hall of Fame, he'll go as a Packer. That's why it can be so jarring to see him wearing a different shade of green now that he's a member of the New York Jets. That's also why this period has to be strange for fans in Green Bay. It isn't quite like Brett Favre joining the Minnesota Vikings, but it certainly has to be bittersweet seeing the Jets go "all-in" around the four-time MVP in his potential last chance to get another ring.

It's admittedly bittersweet for Rodgers as well, who recently told Kay Adams that he's stayed in touch with many in Green Bay and that eventually, the two parties will reunite.

"All love, definitely love," Rodgers said when asked about his  relationship with the Packers. "I talked to Jordan [Love] on the eve of training camp. I talked to Matt [LaFleur]. [I] Still talk to a lot of people over there. I talked to Rasul [Douglas] recently. I'm always in touch with Preston [Smith]. I love those guys, man. There are so many guys I really care about over there."

Rodgers revealed there are still many workers in the building who reach out to him. It also sounds like he's more than willing to finish his story with the Packers on a good note. For what it's worth, we know people in Green Bay feel the same way.

"I love that place. That chapter is closed for now," Rodgers explained. "We'll write the epilogue at some point. A lot of love and gratitude for that time."
