Aaron Rodgers put on blast by anonymous NFL executives

Following a disheartening 23-21 loss to the Washington Commanders on Sunday at FedEx Field, the Green Bay Packers fell to 3-4 and they’re off to the franchise’s worst seven-game start since 2006.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ seeming inability to make lemonade out of lemons like he traditionally has with a lesser supporting cast in the past has prompted some NFL executives to question whether the Packers should have cut ties with the three-time league MVP during the offseason.

“They created a monster,” an anonymous general manager recently told Jason La Canfora of the Washington Post. “He’s got a voice in personnel now, or at least he thinks he does. The knives are about to come out there. That could get really ugly. They should have traded him when they had the chance, and they’re stuck with him now, whether he really wants to be there or not. [And this is] after everything they’ve gone through since they took Jordan Love, and that was when they were winning 13 games a year and he was playing like an MVP. They are in serious s--- now.”

The Washington defense stifled Rodgers, who passed for a season-low 194 yards, as the Commanders held the Packers to two touchdowns on their 10 drives, forcing them to punt five times and holding them to less than 25 yards on six drives.

The Packers are averaging just 18.2 points per game — the lowest of Rodgers’ career — and his 94.3 passer rating is his lowest since 2015 (92.7). Without top receiver Davante Adams, Rodgers has completed just 27.5 percent of his passes beyond 20 yards and his 3.71 average completed air yards is the lowest in the league.

La Canfora also mentioned that scouts and executives close to the Packers have claimed that Rodgers has been exhibiting poor body language, seemingly expressing his disinterest in playing offense.
