Aaron Rodgers ranked No. 1 QB in ESPN survey

Aaron Rodgers is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time. He has proven it time and time again and his play on the field speaks for itself

His NFL peers understand what they are witnessing too.

In a new ESPN survey, 50 NFL coaches, players, executives and scouts voted Aaron Rodgers as the league's No. 1 quarterback. The California native was voted ahead of the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen and Tom Brady. After looking at what Rodgers has done in his last two seasons in Green Bay it's easy to understand the results of the survey.

The former Bute Community College star is the back-to-back NFL MVP. He has thrown a combined 85 touchdowns to just nine interceptions in the last two years. That is a ridiculous stat. He led the league in passer rating in both 2020 (121.5) and 2021 (111.5).

His ability to escape the opposing pass-rush is also unique because he can still do it at a very high level despite being in his late-30s. Rodgers has rushed for three touchdowns in each of the last two seasons. His combination of arm strength, accuracy, vision and mobility have made him one of the elite players in the NFL over the last decade-plus. At age 38, No. 12 is the best quarterback in the league right now and based on his statistics and overall play, it is not particularly close.

Aaron Rodgers and Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur have formed quite a partnership over the last three seasons en route to 41 total wins. Green Bay has had three consecutive 13-win seasons, winning the NFC North each of the last three years. They have been absolutely dominant.

The Packers and Rodgers agreed to a new three-year extension earlier this offseason that would keep the four-time MVP in Green Bay for the foreseeable future. Matt LaFleur's team is one of the elite teams in the NFC and will be in Super Bowl contention once again in 2022. Aaron Rodgers is a pretty big reason why.
