Aaron Rodgers reportedly has one issue with the Steelers

With the 2026 NFL Draft just around the corner, the Pittsburgh Steelers still don't know whether they'll have Aaron Rodgers on the field next season.

Once again, the former MVP is taking his time deciding whether to continue playing, leaving his team in the dark.

However, NFL insider Mike Florio believes the decision not to let them know his next move might not be solely due to uncertainty, but also for a pettier reason.

Speaking on 93.7 The Fan, Florio revealed that Rodgers doesn't appreciate the Steelers discussing his situation.

Aaron Rodgers is 'irritated' with the Steelers

"One of my sources that is kind of hit-and-miss, he insists that Rodgers is irritated that they talk about him," Florio said. "He doesn't like it. He didn't like it at the owners meeting when [Steelers owner] Art [Rooney] kind of did the cat-that-swallowed-the-canary smile. They act like they know he's coming, and we expect to hear something soon. You've got to tiptoe around the delicate genius."

Rodgers has certainly earned the right to take his time to take the next step in his career, but doing so for three consecutive years feels more like a gimmick and a media stunt.

As great a player as he is, he also has a long history of actively trying to stay in the news cycle for as long as possible, sometimes at the detriment of his team.

The Steelers backed themselves into a corner by catering to him and failing to have a reliable Plan B in case he decides to leave.

Of course, the product will be better with him on the field, at least for now, but given the way he's handled his career over the past couple of years, it feels like the Steelers are just reaping what they sowed with him.
