Aaron Rodgers responds to ‘Mr. Pfizer’ backlash, challenges Travis Kelce to debate

The Aaron Rodgers–Travis Kelce beef, if you want to call it that, went to a new level Tuesday on the Pat McAfee Show.

After his “Mr. Pfizer” comments and Kelce’s response, Rodgers invited Kelce, along with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Anthony Fauci to the program for a debate. No, that’s not a joke. Rodgers was ready for an all-out conversation with everyone in debate format for appointment television.

Kelce stood by his vaccine comments after Rodgers gave him a playful jab, no pun intended. But Rodgers went a little further after he couldn’t believe the company would potentially sell jerseys.

“Is that real,” Rodgers asked.

That’s when the quarterback talked about his questioning of the potential product from Pfizer.

“I mean, the triggering though, was that not incredible,” Rodgers said. “Last week, getting absolutely triggered. And I saw some of it. I love, I mean, the Johnsons have been great to me, so I don’t mind if you call me Mr. Johnson and Johnson. Woody, Christopher, their families, they’ve been great. 

“I don’t play for the Johnson and Johnson Corporation. I play for the New York Jets. So I mean, I you know, I made a tiny little joke about a guy shilling for a potentially corrupt company and everybody kind of loses their mind.”

The debate is on, or well, it was pondered by Rodgers. He wanted RFK Jr., who announced his Independent run for President in 2024, by his side. Fauci can go with Kelce, according to Rodgers.

“Mr. Pfizer said he didn’t think he’d be in a vax war with me,” Rodgers said. “Vax war, this ain’t a war homie, this is just conversation. But if you want to have some sort of dual, debate, hop on the podcast. Come on the show, let’s have a conversation. Let’s do it like in John Wick 4. So we both have a second, somebody to help us out. I’m gonna take my man RFK Jr. and he can have, you know, Tony Fauci or some other ‘pharmacrat’ and we can have a conversation about this.”

Kelce, who’s in a brighter spotlight due to his football prowess and romantic involvement with Taylor Swift, basically laughed off Rodgers’ initial comments.

“I thought it was pretty good. With this ‘stache right now, I look like a Mr. Pfizer,” Kelce said. “Who knew I’d get into the vax wars with Aaron Rodgers. Mr Pfizer versus the Johnson and Johnson family over there, man.”
