Aaron Rodgers Rips His Family For 'The Bachelorette' Decision

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has long had a contentious relationship with his family. But he recently revealed that things have been testy with his family members since at least 2016 over some drama centering on the hit TV series The Bachelorette.

Rodgers had plenty to say in the new Netflix docuseries Aaron Rodgers: Enigma. Rodgers was dating actress Olivia Munn in 2016 when his younger brother Jordan was a contestant on the show. Jordan Rodgers made it to the final two and had a segment where JoJo Fletcher, The Bachelorette, had to meet the Rodgers family. But in a controversial move, there were two empty chairs placed at the dinner table to represent Rodgers and Munn while the rest of the family met with Fletcher.

When talking about that incident to Netflix, Rodgers got heated. He said that the dinner took place in the middle of the Packers football season and that he was never even asked to go. Though he admitted that he wouldn't have gone anyway due to his estrangement from his family.

“And what do they do? They go on a (expletive) show and leave two empty chairs,” Rodgers said, via Page Six. “They all agreed this was a good thing to do, to leave two empty chairs at a stupid dating show that my brother just went on to get famous — his words, not mine. That he ended up winning. But a dinner that was during the [football] season, I was never asked to go to. Not that I would’ve gone.”

Aaron Rodgers and Munn broke up in 2017 while Jordan Rodgers wound up marrying Fletcher in 2022. In a recent book written about Aaron, members of the family accused Munn of causing an irreparable rift between him and the rest of the family - an accusation that he has publicly denied.

Rodgers claims that his rift with the family is "deep-rooted" and that there had been issues between him and his family members for many years before he started going out with Munn.

Olivia Munn married John Mulaney in 2024 while Rodgers has never married.
