Aaron Rodgers shares request for Jets locker room amid recovery

Injured New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers doesn't love that the message he delivered to the team ahead of Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs went public.

"When it comes to some of the stuff I talked about, I think that was one of the more disappointing things about the entire weekend," Rodgers explained during a Tuesday appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show," per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk. "Part of the process of being a team that’s connected and being a team that sticks together is there’s some things that are meant for the locker room. Conversations that should stay in the locker room, in the meeting room, in the hotel."

Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles in Week 1 but rejoined the Jets last week and addressed the team on Saturday night. According to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard revealed some details about what Rodgers said after the future Hall of Famer told McAfee last week that members of the team's offense needed to "grow up."

On Tuesday, Rodgers suggested he doesn't like that some teammates are willing to share certain pieces of information with reporters.

"We need to learn as an organization that some things need to be kept in-house," Rodgers continued. "We gotta tighten the ship up a little bit."

Rodgers and the Jets have more important things to worry about than what is or isn't kept behind closed doors. It was reported before the "Sunday Night Football" game that the 39-year-old wants to return and play for the Jets if they reach the postseason, but quarterback Zach Wilson has lost all three of his starts since Rodgers went down.

Wilson had his best performance of the campaign against the Chiefs and will look to build upon that when 1-3 New York plays at the 1-3 Denver Broncos Sunday.
