Aaron Rodgers still has 'competitive drive for excellence' entering 17th NFL season

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has not shown any signs of slowing down entering his 17th NFL season. In an Instagram appearance this week, the 37-year-old claimed that he is excited to reach new heights in 2021.

"We have to have something inside us that drives us," Rodgers said, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette. "I think there's a competitive drive for excellence that every successful person has, and success to me isn't about money or status. Success is about doing your absolute best and being comfortable looking in the mirror, going to sleep at night knowing you did your absolute best. That's true success."

Rodgers had one of the best seasons of his career in 2020, completing 70.7% of his passes for 4,299 yards and a career-high 48 touchdowns against five interceptions.

His performance helped the Packers clinch the top spot in the NFC and earn a first-round bye in the playoffs. Green Bay took down the Los Angeles Rams before being halted in their tracks by Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Despite a disappointing end to the season, Rodgers was still crowned NFL MVP for the third time in his historic career.

If he's still as motivated in 2021, maybe the Packers will make it back to the Super Bowl for the first time since 2010.
