Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams has joined the esteemed ranks of NFL stars who have been named a member of the exclusive “Madden 99” club. Making the honor even better, Adams received the news from none other than Aaron Rodgers.
The Packers shared footage of Rodgers surprising Adams in a tweet posted Wednesday night, and the star wideout subsequently posted the video as well.

Adams began the season with a 94 overall rating on “Madden 21” but rose to 98 in Week 13. Deservedly so, as Adams has put up monster numbers this season with 109 receptions for 1,328 yards and 17 touchdowns. Adams leads all NFL wide receivers in TDs, and his receptions and yards have him at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.
With the “Madden 99” club nod, Adams joins Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald, Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey, New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore, New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas, Seattle Seahawks Russell Wilson, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins as NFL stars who have earned the honor this season.
