Aaron Rodgers tips his hat to Packers fans after Steelers loss, showing once again how deep that bond still runs

Aaron Rodgers gave everything he had to beat the Green Bay Packers on "Sunday Night Football," and had a Strong performance for the Pittsburgh Steelers against his former team. It wasn't enough, as Green Bay proved to be a better team in a 35-25 win, but Rodgers showed he still has a strong connection with the Packers.

Rodgers still values Packers fans out there

Days after saying he still plans to somehow finish his career with the Packers, Rodgers tipped his hat to Packers fans that went to Acrisure Stadium and made a lot of noise.

"First time in a while I used silent count for a home game," Rodgers said after the matchup.

According to Rodgers, there were a lot of "Go Pack Go" chants throughout the game, which forced the Steelers' offense to operate in an unusual style for games in Pittsburgh.

Overall, Pittsburgh was still capable of putting up a respectable offensive performance, scoring 25 points against the Packers' defense, the second-highest score allowed by Green Bay this season. Rodgers completed 24 of 36 passes for 219 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. However, the Steelers scored only nine points in the second half.

Respect for the other side

Aaron Rodgers obviously didn't appreciate the Packers' decision to draft Jordan Love back in 2020, but he never directed his feelings toward Love. Rodgers knew how tough it was for him to replace Brett Favre in 2008, so he made a concerted effort to create a positive relationship with Love.

After Jordan's impressive performance on Sunday night, Rodgers praised what the youngster was able to make on the field.

"Yeah, I thought J-Love played great," Rodgers mentioned. "He was super efficient, he didn't get sacked, moved around pretty well, made some plays outside the pocket. I thought he played outstanding."

The Steelers are now 4-3, but still lead the AFC North and are the only team in the division with a positive record. Unless there's a new Packers-Steelers Super Bowl with Rodgers on the other side, though, the future Hall of Famer won't need to face his old team again.

And after this emotional night, Rodgers can get back and support his old team — and Jordan Love — like he has done so many times.
