The New York Jets are buzzing with energy. The year the team desired to have in 2023-24 was short-lived after Aaron Rodgers suffered an unfortunate Achilles tear. But with him back on the field, there is just about nothing to be pessimistic about for Jets fans, except for Nathaniel Hackett .

The offensive coordinator for the New York Jets is not the most popular. Fans believe he is in this position because of Aaron Rodgers, who requested that the team bring him aboard.

The quarterback is sure about Hackett’s potential as an OC and vouched for him while assuring fans that they should trust Hackett because he is a capable coach and together; they work best. In an interview with Adam Schein on SiriusXMRodgers defended Hackett.

Well, you should trust me, and I trust Nathaniel. To me, that's the end of the story. There's been a lot of BS that's been said out there, there's a lot of things that have gone on the last couple of years that he has dealt with that I think he has handled professionally. At the end of the day...Him and I's partnership has been fruitful in the past and it's gonna be fruitful again. Aaron Rodgers said

Rodgers believes that Hackett has handled all the criticism and undue hate from fans over the years in the most professional manner.

Nathaniel Hackett’s terrible record with the Denver Broncos negatively impacted his credibility

The last few years have not been the best for Nathaniel Hackett in a professional capacity. His tenure with the Denver Broncos adversely impacted his rap as a good coach.

In a year wherein the team was regarded as one of the best in the NFL and an immediate Super Bowl contender following the addition of Russell Wilson. However, the team failed to make it to the playoffs and the inside information with respect to Hackett’s abilities as a play-caller were not favorable to him.

To make matters worse, Sean Payton, who took over the Broncos HC job, called Hackett as one of the worst head coaches, considering how he had run things. Aaron Rodgers, on the contrary, believes Hackett has been overlooked and his skillset as a coach is being looked down upon.

The fact is that whenever Rodgers and Hackett have teamed up; the offense has never been a point of concern. Owing to the offensive coordinator’s elite skillset, he made the Packers offense in 2020 one of the best in the NFL and was a key part in allowing the quarterback to win back-to-back MVP awards. This season, they will look to win a different trophy together, the Lombardi, an accomplishment that they are yet to achieve together.
