Aaron Rodgers weighs in on Jets OC opening
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Aaron Rodgers spoke on The Pat McAfee Show Tuesday about his future in 2023. The quarterback dropped hints about what would need to be done for him to be back with the Green Bay Packers next season. Rodgers also spoke about the vacant New York Jets offensive coordinator job.

The New York remarks might stick out to Packers fans. Rodgers has been linked to the Jets via multiple trade scenarios this offseason, and they are a team that could be a deep playoff competitor with the right quarterback. Rodgers could be that quarterback if the Jets move on from Zach Wilson, as is expected.

Rodgers wasn’t sure that decision had been reached by New York. Speaking to McAfee and A.J. Hawk on the podcast, he offered advice as to what the Jets should look for in their next offensive coordinator.

Rodgers wants the next Jets coordinator to get the best out of next year’s starting quarterback. It seems like Aaron Rodgers thinks the Jets will give Wilson another chance next season, and If Wilson is starting there, it would not be very likely that Rodgers would be traded there. We’ll see if this changes as the discussion between Rodgers and the Packers brass continue.
