Aaron Rodgers wonders if Packers-Bears is still rivalry ahead of Week 18

There’s no question Aaron Rodgers is a Jet, But when it comes to the Packers-Bears rivalry, he’s an “us” cheering for the “G and G.”

Chicago ends its season against Green Bay this Sunday at Lambeau Field. There’s nothing on the line for the Bears except bragging rights. Their season is over no matter the outcome. And, because they own the Panthers first round pick, Chicago already has secured first choice in April’s NFL Draft.

But the Packers have everything on the line at Lambeau. A win over the Bears guarantees Green Bay makes the playoffs. The rest is just seeding. This time a year ago, when Rodgers was playing his final game for the Packers, Green Bay needed only a win at home over the Lions. Instead, Detroit won. Ugly memory for the “G and G.”

However, Rodgers was thinking only happy Bears-Packers thoughts when he joined The Pat McAfee Show this week.

“Definitely the young guys (are playing) really well and Jordan (Love) has been excellent,” Rodgers said of his old team. “He made four or five pretty incredible throws the other night. So one more game to go. It’s the Super Bowl for the Bears just about every year because they haven’t made the playoffs.”

Then Rodgers posed a question. “Is it a rivalry anymore? If they can’t beat us, is it a rivalry?” (Notice the word us.)

“Every coach who gets hired in Chicago, his first goal is to beat Green Bay,” Rodgers said. “And then like, we had our run, okay. And then it was like ‘the old guy’s out of here and these young kids aren’t worth a sxxt. But Jordan Love has been pretty damn good.”

Rodgers added “I think it’s gonna be a good day for the G&G.” That’s Packers talk for the green and gold.
