ACC Champion Serving as Honorary Captain Against Cincinnati

The 6-foot-2, 250-pound Adomitis started every game between 2017-21, serving as Pitt’s short and long snapper. A team captain at Pitt, he made his impact on the field. And he made, arguably, an even greater effort off the field.

A 2021 AFCA Good Works Team member, named for his commitment to community service, Adomits’s “Cal’s Kids” initiative raised over $122,000 for the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh — and it led to the shearing of his long locks.

Adomitis earned All-American honors on the way to an ACC championship and NFL dreams — along with earning the Mannelly Award, which is given to the most outstanding long snapper in college football.

After four years at Pittsburgh Central Catholic and five years at Pitt, staying in hometown Pittsburgh for nearly a quarter century, Cal laid a foundation on not just being a good football player, an excellent long-snapper, but a good human being.

“Cal’s Kids” raised $115,000 for UPMC Children’s Hospital, surpassing a fundraising goal of $94,000 originally set by Cal, and he even sheared his signature locks in a ceremony upon reaching his goal. He may be playing in Cincinnati now, but his impact in Pittsburgh will not soon be forgotten.

Adomitis is entering his third season as the starting long snapper for the Bengals.
