Ever since taking over as the Washington Commanders' majority owner in 2023, Josh Harris has had the Midas touch.
His hirings of Adam Peters as general manager and Dan Quinn as head coach have proven to be home runs so far. The team's on-field turnaround from winning four games in 2023 to 12 in 2024, which also featured an NFC Championship game appearance, was among the most stunning in NFL history.
All in all, it's been a full cultural overhaul in D.C. One that has been long overdue.
One area remains a work in progress. That's the quality of the team's Ashburn headquarters, which received underwhelming marks on the NFL Players Association's annual report card again this year.
Even Washington's grades ranked No. 11 league-wide overall, the training room, weight room, and especially the locker room all left much more to be desired.
Harris was right on it.
During an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Peters gave some considerable praise to the way Harris has managed the Commanders both on and off the field.
He noted that Harris said "I'm not an F-minus guy" when referring to the locker room's grades upon his arrival. Peters then made it a point to mention that the Commanders are currently in the process of building a new one.
Peters also noted that the Commanders' practice facility has removed its astroturf practice field, something that was the general manager's suggestion, among other alterations.
From our kitchen to our locker room, to our meeting rooms, to our stadium, even the locker room at the stadium... everything we've asked for, (Harris) has done.Adam Peters

There was an astroturf field here when I got here..
Everything that we've asked for he has done"

It shows a genuine, authentic commitment on Harris's part towards rebuilding this proud franchise from within, not that this is news to anyone in Washington. The successful businessman, who also holds majority ownership stakes in the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers and the NHL's New Jersey Devils, was raised in Chevy Chase, Maryland, and has been a lifelong fan since childhood of the team he now owns.
Harris, just like all of us, believed D.C. deserved better than what the Commanders' previous ownership regime was providing. In only two short years, he has not only built a winning product on the field but has also achieved victories off the field by securing Washington's bid to host the 2027 NFL Draft and reaching an agreement on a new stadium for the team that should be completed by 2030 pending city council approval.
"He put his money where his mouth is," Peters remarked. That, he most certainly has.
