Adam Schefter on Falcons interest in Kevin Stefanski

The Falcons already have two interviews lined up for their vacant head coaching position — Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak and Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver — and you can now add another name to that list: recently fired Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski.

The Falcons interest in Stefanski is not the least bit surprising. He is a two-time Coach of the Year winner with the Cleveland Browns and has a long history of working with quarterbacks, dating all the way back to 2009 when he served as the assistant quarterbacks coach for the Minnesota Vikings.

These are the type of candidates the Falcons should be targeting. They’ve gone the defensive route time and time again, and it has consistently failed to pan out. They also fully recognize they have to find someone who can finally get the quarterback position right. Expect Atlanta to continue zeroing in on offensive-minded head coaches, and Stefanski owns one of the strongest résumés on the market.
