Adam Thielen says Vikings teammate Justin Jefferson is the best WR in NFL

It wasn’t that long ago that Adam Thielen was the Minnesota Vikings' No. 1 receiver and garnering most of the attention from reporters in the locker room looking for post-game interviews.

Now, that’s a mantle he’s has since passed onto teammate Justin Jefferson, whom Thielen had some lofty praise for following Minnesota’s 28-25 win over the New Orleans Saints Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

“I strongly believe that he’s the best receiver in this league,” Thielen told reporters in London. “And you just have an extra motivation to cheer for a guy that is not only a great football player, and what he does on the football field is amazing, but he’s an even better person.

“And I’m not just saying that because he’s my teammate. I love going to work with him every day. I get to spend a lot of time with him in the receiver room, and those are the guys you just cheer for a little bit more, you hope they have success because they deserve it because of how hard they work because of the type of man that he is.”

Jefferson had a game-high 10 receptions and 147 yards against the Saints, and his 39-yard reception with 1:37 left in the fourth quarter brought the Vikings to the New Orleans 29-yard line and helped set up Greg Joseph’s winning 47-yard field goal.

The 23-year-old LSU alum currently ranks fourth in the NFL in receiving yards (393), and he’s tied for the fourth-most receptions (28) and targets (42) in the league. His seven receptions of 20 yards or more are also the second-most this season, behind Tyreek Hill’s eight.
