Words spread like wildfire after allegedly Adrian Peterson was ready to auction his NFL memorabilia. The former Minnesota Vikings running back had apparently fallen into hard times financially.
However, Peterson claimed the rumors were completely false. He did not post any notifications about selling off his NFL honors, which included MVP and Offensive Rookie of the Year trophies. The 39-year-old clarified that he was ‘financially stable’ and the company posted the update without his knowledge.
I want to clarify a recent rumor and media reports that an estate sale company without my authorization included some of my trophies in a sale. Peterson said on X (formerly Twitter).

Petreson’s financial troubles are no secret. As a result, it did not come as a surprise to many that he could sell some of his valuables to recover some money. However, in his words, Peterson isn’t facing any issues with money.
I want to emphasize that I am financially stable and would never sell off my hard-earned trophies. Continuing further, he added
In light of the development, the Oklahoma alumnus may seek legal advice. He has threatened to take action against the website hibid.com if they don’t take down notifications.
I did not authorize the sale of any of my [trophies], and I will be taking legal action. We allowed them to go into several of our storage units with clear instructions. They clearly did something unlawful. Peterson added.
