AFC general manager believes Eagles' Howie Roseman isn't done cooking up trades after acquiring John Metchie

The Philadelphia Eagles added some more wide receiver competition to their roster on Sunday evening. Philly traded tight end Harrison Bryant and a fifth-round pick to the Houston Texans for wide receiver John Metchie and a sixth-round pick.

This is the second trade that Howie Roseman has made in recent weeks. Earlier this month, the Eagles traded defensive tackle Thomas Booker IV to the Las Vegas Raiders and received cornerback Jakorian Bennett in return.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz is hearing that the Eagles are not done making trades.

"Text from an AFC GM: “Don’t think Eagles are done with trades. They have so many picks next year and that team is always gonna be aggressive," Schultz reported.

After their latest trades, the Eagles have 10 picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, and that does not include any compensatory picks. Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice predicts the league will award Philly with three compensatory picks next offseason after they lost Milton Williams, Josh Sweat, and Mekhi Becton to NFL free agency this past March.

Considering how crowded the Eagles' wide receiver room has gotten, there has been talk that the team may trade Jahan Dotson, whom they acquired just before the 2024 season.

We'll see what happens in the coming weeks. Until then, the Eagles have one more preseason game against the New York Jets next Friday night, where Eagles fans can get a first glimpse of Metchie in their offense.
