Chargers HC Jim Harbaugh confirmed that the team will hold QB Justin Herbert out of the final regular-season game, with Harbaugh mentioning that his quarterback needs time to heal ahead of the playoffs.
“He’s got bruises that need to heal,” Harbaugh said of Herbert, via NFL.com.
Chiefs OC Matt Nagy is expected to get some interviews for head coaching vacancies after his four-year run as Bears HC, where things slowly got worse each year. Former Bears WR Allen Robinson thinks Nagy’s open personality led to too many opinions holding weight in his Chicago tenure.
“With Matt being so personable and being open to opinions, everybody felt their suggestions had a lot of weight, as opposed to just being on board and trusting,” Robinson said, via Dan Pompei of The Athletic.
Should he get another shot as head coach, Nagy knows he has to be himself and trust what he’s done to maintain success.
“What I’ve learned is be me all four years, not just one,” Nagy said.
Chiefs HC Andy Reid gave Nagy the ultimate vote of confidence because of what he saw during his 2018 campaign, where Nagy was Coach of the Year with 11 wins.
“What I saw in 2018 was a coach of the year,” Reid said. “And that’s what I still see — there’s a coach of the year in there.”
Reid said he plans on returning for another season in Kansas City.
“I mean, I think I’m coming back, right?” Reid said, via ESPN. “If they’ll have me back, I’ll come back. You never know in this business. That’s a tough one. But I plan on it, yeah.”
Raiders HC Pete Carroll said DE Maxx Crosby has returned to the facility and is in line with the team and what they’re building for the future.
“We’re doing great,” Carroll said, via PFT. “We’re eye-to-eye on what’s going on.”
