After letting him go, the Lions have decided to bring back promising edge rusher

The Detroit Lions made what seemed like kind of a interesting move last week when they decided not tender him an exclusive rights contract and letting him hit free ageency, the Lions are bringin back Mitchell Agude per the team.

Agude joined the team in 2023 after being an undrafted free agent out of UCLA for the Miami Dolphins. He's shown some promise and growth in the last two seasons and it seemed like last year he would make the 53-man roster after camp.

Ultimately he did not and the Lions brought him back to their practice squad. He was active for the first time in December but only played 44 snaps. He did have a big forced fumble against the Bears in Week 16.

This is going to be a big offseason for Agude. He was so close last year. If he's able to go out and have another good camp and show some growth in the SAM linebacker or edge rusher area, he's a much better chance to be on the 53-man roster at the start of September. We'll see what happens.
