The Chicago Bears have been the subject of a few draft trade rumors before the first round on Thursday night.
The Bears are reported to be interested in selecting Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty. Given the demand for the Heisman Trophy runner-up, general manager Ryan Poles might have to trade up to get him or another premium talent before their pick at No. 10.
Poles hinted this week that trade discussions were happening with the Bears and around the league when he said he expected the draft to be “wild” on Thursday night.
Ben Devine posted a rumor that caught the attention of Bears fans. He posted on his X account with 18,000+ followers that Chicago has a tentative trade agreement ready to go for Thursday night, depending on who is still on the board when they’re able to pull off the trade.
“Sounds like the Chicago Bears have a trade agreement in place in the #NFLDraft tonight,” Devine posted on X. “Source says a tentative deal was hammered out yesterday afternoon. Buckle up. As GM Ryan Poles said Tuesday, “This one is going to be a little wild.”

Bears fans had mixed reactions to the post. Some fans want Chicago to take an elite talent. Others don’t think the Bears should waste draft capital for any player in this class.
“Oh no please no – we need many pieces not a piece And PLEASE not for a rb,” wrote a fan.
“I just hope they don’t give up too much in a trade up I still don’t think trading for jeanty when they have so many defensive line problems is the answer either way,” suggested a fan.
“I swear to God if we traded up for jeanty… and gave up major assets to do I’m done.. he’s a great back and all, but he doesn’t have elite traits besides vision and contact balance. You don’t trade up for a rb that doesn’t elite traits. You can get his traits in the 2nd or 3rd,” posted another.
“If I had to guess, it’s NE for Jeanty right? NYG prolly asking too much for 3 & Carter, & NE still gets an OL at 10 plus an additional 2nd,” speculated a fan on who the Bears’ suitor is.
“Same source that told you the league views Campbell as a guard,” asked a fan who is skeptical of the rumor.
“As long as it’s carter Jeanty or Graham (maybe even mykel low key) and not warren im good,” wrote a fan.
