Detroit Lions pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson is set to return with a vengeance this year, as the defender was on course to record over 20 sacks in 2024 prior to breaking his leg in Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys.
Questions continue to swirl about whether the Lions will, at all, go for another reinforcement along their pass rush outside of Hutchinson and Marcus Davenport. Za'Darius Smith remains an option in free agency, but as of late, it doesn't seem like Detroit is as keen on bringing him back as Smith is about returning.
No harm, no foul, right? It's not like there's a star pass rusher available on the trade market right now, or anything of that sort.
Hutchinson feels the same about just how ridiculous trading for Micah Parsons would be for Detroit, as he reacted to such a scenario presented by Kay Adams on the "Up & Adams" show on Thursday.
"It'd be a dangerous combo if we were together."

"What did you just say? Micah in a Lions uniform? Is that the rumor going around right now?," Hutchinson asked in disbelief. He added, "There's no way. Don't get me wrong, he'd be great to play with, but, he'll get his deal done...trust me, it'd be a dangerous combo if we were together. But, I think he'll get his deal done."
The other team that has been rumored to be connected to a potential deal for Parsons is the Green Bay Packers, which is why Adams suggested in the clip above that another NFC North team could swoop in and grab Parsons off the market. Per a recent report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Cowboys have begun actually listening to offers for the star defender.
It's extremely unlikely that the Lions get in on this action. The whole reason for Parsons' dispute with the Cowboys comes on the heels of a disrespectful negotiation on an extension between himself and owner Jerry Jones, and he's looking for a huge deal in the realm of what Myles Garrett received from the Cleveland Browns.
That throws a ridiculously expensive wrench into any Lions plans to retain Brian Branch, Jameson Williams, Hutchinson, or even Alex Anzalone this offseason as the team looks to extend or re-sign these key starters. It's simply not happening, and Hutchinson knows that.
